General Queries Regarding Booking Your Villa Holiday with Villa Select
Q. Can I hold an option on a villa?
A. Villa Select are able to hold short provisional options on one villa for up to 24 hours. We do not hold options on late bookings.
Q.What deposit does Villa Select require to confirm a booking?
A. Booking your villa holiday can’t be easier. A 20% deposit is required for the villa rental, car hire/transfers and any other additions you may have added onto your holiday booking if the booking is made more than 10 weeks in advance of your schedule villa holiday. If the booking is made less than 10 weeks in advance or a Villa Select Special offer, of your scheduled villa holiday, 100% of the value of the holiday is due at the time of booking.
If you are booking your flights through Villa Select, 100% of the cost of the flights is due at the time of booking.
Q. Can I book my Villa Select villa holiday online?
A. Yes, we have the facility for you to confirm your villa via our on-line reservations service.
Q. What other services do Villa Select offer when booking a villa holiday?
A. Villa Select has many services to offer you when booking you villa holiday. We can arrange and book your flights, car hire, taxi transfers, airport parking, airport lounge passes and many excursions/day trips at your holiday destination for you, please telephone our friendly team to arrange any of these services.
Q. Can I book my own flights?
Q. What time is the villa available from and what time must it be vacated?
A. We appreciate that there is no such thing as the ‘perfect’ flight timings that suits both your travelling party and also ties in with the villa occupation and vacation times. We want you to arrive to a villa that is fully cleaned and prepared for your arrival. In order that this can be done, the maids must have uninterrupted access to all areas of the property therefore, your villa will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival and is to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. When booking your own travel arrangements, please bear in mind the above information.
Q. What is included in the Welcome Pack?
A. A Welcome Pack is provided for you to enjoy on arrival at your holiday home and will include some essential items for you to enjoy on arrival. The contents will vary slightly from resort to resort but will normally include tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam, water, wine, eggs, cheese and either tuna or ham, salad items, a starter pack of toilet rolls, matches, rubbish bags, washing up liquid, 3 x dishwasher tablets and a cleaning cloth, contents may vary slightly in resort. If you require a vegetarian welcome hamper please advise us at the time of booking.
Please note that selected properties/discounted villas do not include a welcome pack, however can be added on at an additional fee, please ask at the time when booking your Villa Select villa holiday.
Q. Are there irons, ironing boards, safes and hairdryers at the villas?
A. Yes, all of our villas have an iron, ironing board, safe and a hairdryer.
Q. Is there a breakage deposit/security deposit when I book my Villa Select villa holiday?
A. There is a £10 per person minor breakage and accidental damage charge that will be added to all bookings. This charge will be shown on your confirmation invoice and payable at the time of your balance payment. The charge is non-refundable and covers accidental damage to fixtures and fitting and breakages to crockery and glassware. This does not cover malicious damage or misuse of the fixtures and fittings or structure to your villa.
We ask you to leave the property in the condition you found it on your arrival and report any damages or breakages caused during your stay.

Q. Does Villa Select include flights in my villa holiday booking?
A. Flights are not included in the prices shown on the website for each villa. If you require flights to your villa holiday destination, our travel specialist can arrange and book your flights for you and your party.
Q. Are transfers /car hire included?
A. We do not include transfers or car hire in the villa cost. If you require car hire or transfers for your villa holiday, our travel specialist can arrange and book your flights for you and your party.
Q. When will we receive our directions and tickets?
A. Your tickets and final instructions will be sent out to you approximately 2-3 weeks before departure.
Q. Can a child under 16 travel to Portugal without its parent or guardian?
A. In accordance with the Child Abduction Act, any child (up to 16 years) travelling with an adult, who is not their parent or guardian, is required to be in possession of a letter giving appropriate consent from the parent or legal guardian and authenticated by a solicitor which includes a contact telephone number.
Q. Can I take my dog?
A. No pets whatsoever are allowed in any of our properties.
Q. Are any of the villas suitable for partially disabled?
A. The only villa which has been specially adapted to accommodate a wheelchair for partially disabled/disabled clients’ is Cala Llonga in Cala d’Or. Other disabled friendly villas: Bellamirada in Menorca
Q. Does the property have air-conditioning?
A. This is only available if stated in the description of the accommodation and will be in the rooms as stated. All air-conditioning units are set on a timer. This avoids an overload of the system when numerous electrical items are in use. We’d also like to think that we’ll all be doing our bit towards saving the environment.
Q. Do any of the villas have heated swimming pools?
A. The following villas have heated pools:

Note: * indicates additional charges for pool heating, chargeable per day and is payable locally.
Q. Are cots and highchairs available?
A. We can arrange cots at a charge of £30 – £38 per week depending on resort. Cot linen is provided for you. Highchairs can be arranged for you at £15 – £30 per week, depending on resort.
Q. What are the maid’s duties?
A. Her basic duties are bed making, cleaning the villa (bathrooms, kitchens, floors etc.), sweeping patios and general tidying. Washing up and cleaning of barbecues are NOT included in her duties.
Q. Will my DVDs play on the DVD player in the villa?
A. Where our villas are described as having a DVD player, this will have been supplied by the villa owner and is therefore outside our control. However, as all our resorts are in DVD region 2 (the same as the UK) it is reasonable to assume that DVDs bought in the UK will play with no problems. If you intend to take any region 1 DVDs there is no guarantee that these will play.
