The best beaches to enjoy in Dubrovnik:

Banje Beach
Located just outside Dubrovnik’s Old Town (Ploče Gate), Banje beach is the city’s most iconic beach with incredible views of the Old Town walls and Lokrum Island. The pebble beach supplies sunbeds, umbrellas, beach club, and water sports which gives you a variety of things to be getting on with.

Sveti Jakov Beach
A quieter alternative to Banje with spectacular sea views and a peaceful setting. The laid-back pebble beach is 1.5 km from Old Town, 20 min walk or short drive, and is perfect for swimming and relaxation.

Šunj Beach (Lopud Island – day trip)
The rare sandy beach is located on Lopud Island, part of the Elaphiti Islands, ~1 hr by boat from Dubrovnik. Enjoy a relaxed vibe with restaurants, sunbeds and bars.
Top Tip: Combine with a boat tour of the Elaphiti Islands.

Copacabana Beach (Lapad Peninsula)
Location: Lapad area, ~4 km from Old Town (~10 min drive).

The breathtaking cliffside beach is one of Croatia’s most dramatic beaches. The top can be reached by a steep trail and stairs. Expect a peaceful and wild environment—perfect for adventurous travellers.
Top Tip: Go early and pack light; it’s a bit of a hike, but totally worth it.
