Villa Description

The flagship villa of our 'Old Skala' selection is this superb property, which is set in a wonderful location with superb sea views.

Named after a local shrub it has been constructed to the highest quality and enjoying a real premium position high above the resort of Skala and the shimmering Ionian sea in the distance. The panoramic views from all angles of the villa are stunning with a backdrop of olive trees, forest, mountainside and there are few places left with such natural beauty.

The villa is built in an 'L' shaped design and is most imposing by any ones standard. A short drive leads off from the mountainside, which meanders through the old village of Skala and up to a large parking area. The main entrance to the property leads straight into the very spacious, well furnished open plan living room. At the far end is the lounge, which is comfortably arranged around a feature fireplace, satellite TV (limited channels),CD player and DVD. Two sets of patio doors open out onto the covered dining terrace, whilst the more formal dining area is in the centre of the room. An American style breakfast bar then splits the superbly fitted kitchen from the living accommodation and boasts dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Again patio doors open from the kitchen to the outside terrace for easy access for easy access for those meals al-fresco.

An inner hall then leads firstly to a downstairs cloakroom with WC and then to the first of the villas four bedrooms. This is a most attractive double with bath, walk-in shower and WC en-suite. Patio doors open out onto the front pool terrace.

Stairs then lead to the first floor and three further bedrooms, two pretty twins each having a shower and WC en-suite. Each also has patio doors onto a small balcony, one facing towards the front and the sea and one to the rear and a lovely mountain backdrop in the distance.

The large master double bedroom is very special with king size bed and a wonderful bathroom en-suite with bath, walk-in shower, WC and double vanity unit. Patio doors open out onto a spacious private terrace, an ideal spot for enjoying those breathtaking views or a spot of private sunbathing.

The villa is air-conditioned throughout for your added benefit.

Outside the very large terrace is well furnished and has a shady covered area leading off from the living accommodation. There is a brick built barbeque conveniently placed and outside dining for eight for those meals al-fresco. Taking pride of place in the centre of the terrace is the 12 metre pool, which has shallow end for children and a Jacuzzi at one end and is the perfect spot to cool off in those sun drenched days of Kefalonian sunshine.

Again as with our other villas in Old Skala, the three fantastic beaches of Skala, Kaminia and Mounda (where on the latter two the Loggerhead Turtles return annually to breed) are just over 2 miles away, whilst the resort of Skala with its choice of shops, tavernas and nightlife is less than 15 minutes by car.

There is a taverna within a matter of minutes drive from the villa offering traditional Mediterranean dishes for you to enjoy whilst savouring the superb views across the Kefalonian countryside.

For those that like to keep active whilst on holiday, there is a tennis court for your use again within a couple of minutes drive and bookingsfor the use of the court can be made at the taverna.

As this villa is reached via a mountainside lane, we recommend a car of 1600cc or larger.
