Villa Description

Located between the resorts of Plaka and the village of Kokkino Horio, villa Maria is set in its own grounds in an elevated position overlooking the stunning bay of Souda with views to the Akrotiri peninsula in the distance. The beautiful bay of Souda is in fact the largest natural harbour in the Eastern Mediterranean, however for those who prefer to see the rugged mountain countryside of Crete, this is also on offer from the rear elevation of this superb property.

The villa is accessed by a narrow lane and is surrounded by stonewalls to ensure maximum privacy. A pretty pergola frames the front door and as you enter into the living area of this bright and airy villa you cannot help but feel the stress of everyday life drift away. The villa follows a modern but simple style throughout amd much thought has been put into making the most of outdoor living with large terraces and balconies on all sides.

A small inner hall into the spacious and comfortably furnished lounge/dining room, which has a beautiful stone built fireplace. This adds character during the warmer months when lit and during the cooler evenings a cosy ambiance, especially with the lights of Souda flickering in the distance. There is satellite TV (limited channels) and DVD for your added enjoyment and patio doors open straight out onto the sea facing veranda, which overlooks the pool and the superb views. The dining kitchen is fully fitted with walnut coloured units and has dishwasher, microwave and a door opens from the kitchen straight out to the front veranda giving easy access to al-fresco dining. On this ground floor level there is an air-conditioned twin bedroom with patio doors to its own terrace and a shower room with WC adjacent. There is also a washing machine located on this level for your added convenience.

A marble fronted staircase leads up to the first floor and two further air-conditioned bedrooms. The master double bedroom has patio doors leading out to a large terrace overlooking the pool with wonderful views and is also an ideal spot for private sunbathing. Finally the third bedroom is a pretty twin and this has patio doors leading to its own balcony and these two bedrooms share a family bathroom adjacent.

The villa is fully air-conditioned for your added benefit.

Outside the well furnished terraces have brick built barbeque and the 8 metre swimming pool is accessed by built in circular steps into a shallow end for children. A special feature of the pool is its mosaic tiles in different shades of blue and green, which add a real touch of class to this lovely family villa.
