For wine-lovers a visit to the Hoya De Cadenas estate in Utiel is a must!!

Situated100 kminland fromValenciathe estate grows over200 hectaresof the finest local and international wine varieties.  Its particular micro-climate with temperature variations from day to night gives the grapes their own special characteristics.  The latest technology gives maximum production without damaging the land and allows a respect for the natural cycles of the environment. Five of the world’s finest grape varieties have adapted perfectly to the conditions of this exceptional place – Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Tempranillo.

The underground cask cellar holds 15,000 selected oak casks and with an area of4000 m2is the largest in the Valencia Community.

As well as a tour of the facilities there is the opportunity to taste the wine and there is a shop and crèche facilities.

The classic tour lasts an hour and a half and includes a train trip around the estate, visits to the cellar, wine-making and cask rooms and a sample of three of their finest wines.  Groups of 25 or more can enjoy a tour and more extensive tasting or a visit including lunch in a local restaurant.  For a very special occasion you can take a balloon flight over the estate and enjoy a glass of cava in the air as well as enjoying the usual visit, tasting and meal.

It is possible to combine your tour with a visit to the Arts and Science Centre inValenciaor a boat trip on the River Jucar.
