Villa Son Rotger Description
A sister property of our beautiful Casesnovas villa superbly located just down the lane and although it is slightly smaller, this luxury villa with a pool in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca is of equally stunning beauty and elegance. Completed during autumn 2007, Villa Son Rotger is decorated with top quality contemporary furnishings throughout and again uses the best of local stone and wood. Son Rotger is another one of our top luxury villas in our Pollensa programme.
A gated drive leads off from the lane and into a large parking area. From the covered porch you enter into the comfortably furnished open plan lounge/dining room which features a modern chimney, plasma satellite TV system (limited English channels) and DVD. Patio doors lead out onto the covered terrace overlooking the pool and ideal venue for those meals outdoors, or just sitting and relaxing in an idyllic holiday atmosphere. The stunning modern fitted kitchen has ceramic hob, dishwasher and microwave, then leading off from here is another informal dining area with large sliding patio doors which again takes you to the pool and terraces. There is also a fully equipped laundry room with washing machine.
On this ground floor level an inner hall then leads to two very pretty air-conditioned twin bedrooms. On this level also, there is a shower room with WC and also a full family bathroom.
An attractive staircase then leads from the lounge to the magnificent air-conditioned master double bedroom with queen size bed, complete dressing room and en-suite bathroom with large corner bath. Patio doors open out onto a private terrace that has beautiful panoramic views over the Bay of Pollensa.
Son Rotger is air-conditioned throughout for your added comfort.
Outside the L shaped porch is well furnished for dining and lounging al fresco and looks out over the terraces and lawns and the surrounding open countryside. As the garden matures the lovely flowerbeds, shrubs and trees will burst into bloom and ensure that the villas sun drenched patio offers peace and privacy to the most discerning of clients. There is a stone built barbeque located on the terrace adjacent to the kitchen for your added convenience. Taking pride of place amongst the terraces is the 11 metre swimming pool with Roman steps into a shallow end for children.
The villas furnishings will be basically the same as with villa Casesnovas and so it is not hard to understand that this lovely new property more than adequately deserves its 5 grade status. We therefore recommend early booking on this property.

This villa is absolutely wonderful. Contemporary inside, traditional outside. It is by far the best villa that we have ever stayed in. It was immaculate inside and out. It is in a lovely position, and from the balconies of the master bedroom you can see the bay of Pollenca, it was beautiful. We would certainly return to this villa. The owner, Marga, called in to see if we were happy with everything. She was very welcoming. I must say that Villa Select are fantastic, the attention to detail could not be bettered. We will not be using any other villa holiday company from now on!

Spent a week in villa Son Rotger with my family in the early summer of 2009, the property is finished to a very high standard with excellent facilities and fittings.
The villa is in a secluded hillside location with impressive and unspoilt views on all sides. Finding the villa for the first time (especially at night ... which is what we had to do) is a challenge. The approach road is a single lane track that winds up the hillside and villa signage could be improved.
Once in the villa and familiar with the surroundings then the value of the secluded location comes to the fore.
The pool and patio area is a good size and benefits from the sun all day.
The first floor balconies on both sides of the main bedroom also offer excellent sun worshipping locations.
Kitchen is very well equipped and space for dining is good both indoors and out.
The air conditioning system was rather temperamental during our visit and with it not working correctly we had some rather unpleasant nights when the indoor temperature was in excess of 30 degrees.
Seating in the lounge area was fine for 3-4 people but any more than that and it got rather cramped having to squeeze onto a couple of arm chairs and a two seater sofa. The villa would be improved by having more sofa based seating inside - we all need a bit of time out of the sun or somewhere to stretch out in the evening and this was rather difficult at Son Rotger.
All in all a very comfortable villa and one that is worthy of inclusion in the 'premier collection' - we had a lovely week of unbroken sunshine in an excellent villa. A more reliable air-con system and better comfy seating indoors would have made our stay perfect.

Villa Select note: Thank you for your comments, these have been passed onto the owner who will ensure that the air-conditioning is looked at and will review the seating arrangements at the villa.
Allowing for situation, views, quality of the villa and its fittings, this is the best villa we have stayed in, in over 20 years of renting.
Two or three bits which may help future renters; The brochure mentions the windy lane!! They are not joking, we had a C4 Citroen and in several places the distance warning beepers on both corners of the car were going off at the same time. The smallest car you can manage with and hire/excess insurance will save some panics, especially if you arrive late at night as we did.
The reps and pamphlets concentrate on P/Pollensa but do not overlook Alcudia, especially the old town. On this subject a section for visitors comments in the V/Select guide in the villa might be handy.
The cats at the villa,especially the siamese are very crafty and attention seeking, we are not particular cat fans but did not pick up any unwanted visitors from them.
We found the best food at "Stay" on the front at P/Pollensa.
